WISDOM – Loaf By Loaf
Words From the Grey

WISDOM

“Get WISDOM!  And in all your getting–GET UNDERSTANDING!

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom…Blessed are those who hunger for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Seek Wisdom.  Seek and ask for understanding–for she is worth MORE than fine gold.

Hearken unto whole-some (holy-some 🙂 ) speech.  Hear intently the WORD of the LORD our God!  For His Word is health to all our flesh; strength and length of days are there!

Night unto night utters speech–Wisdom is found therein.  Do not forsake The Word for the words of the crafty stranger among you who flatters and laughs!  Somber, solemn, and wise are My Words, Joy and Gladness of soul are found in Me.  Seek the higher.

Come unto Me all ye who are weary.  I AM REST for your soul of spirit.  Stop leaning to your reasoning and man-filled understanding and stretch forward, in full faith, unto Me and My fulfilled call of purpose!  I will provide REST.”

Many seek wisdom:  colleges, seminaries, and various houses of higher learning are filled with wisdom seekers…worldly wisdom anyway.  But how many of us can honestly say before Him that we give our focus to HIS Wisdom?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 1:7)  Sadly, few fear Him.  Rarely do men give Him even common courtesy these days.  Our culture (even inside the doors of the church on almost every corner in the US) and on many internet-hawkers, there are found coddlers of man-isms, humanistic belief worship, OVER God’s Written Word.  More often than naught, we hear sermons based on the recently read NY Times Best Sellers list, instead of the timeless pen and prose from the Ancient of Days.  God’s Word has become stale in the eyes of many so-called shepherds.

Break away from the slumberous speech of the lukewarm!  Seek THE WORD!!  For it is health to all who find her and strength to all their bones!!

“I know the scriptures!”, you say to me.  “I am wise and learned–I have a doctorate in theology!”.  Oh foolish man, whoever you may be, that cling to title, accolades, and position!!  God is the discerner of the heart–He sees what you craftily hide from others!  Repent O man!  You who rely on your brain for the answers to life!  For Wisdom from the Lord is Spirit and Life to all who find her!

Godly Wisdom gives Life.  Godly Wisdom bears fruit.  Godly Wisdom rocks your dying body to sleep in the restful Peace that only HE provides!  Length of days are found in her!  Health, wealth, and provision are Hers to give!  SEEK WISDOM!  And in all of your getting, GET UNDERSTANDING!

Time is short.  2 Timothy 3 is a reality in our day.  READ and HEED the voice of your God!  Do not delay!!

I was recently on a hotel stay in which I found myself needing to do a load of laundry.  I went to the front desk to purchase detergent and to get change for the machines. Unfortunately, the only thing I had was a $100 bill.  The clerk at the desk was kind, but obstinate:  “I can charge the detergent to your room, but I cannot break your bill and give you quarters.  I don’t have enough in the drawer.”.  I completely understood her response, but asked if she could charge the $3 required for my task to the room?  “No.”, was her quick response.

I then began to replay the geography of my current location in my mind, quickly considering every possible option in order to break this $100 bill I had in my hand (grocery store?  Truck stop?  Coffee shop?), when a woman stepped out from behind the reception area.  She smiled and walked over with her fist filled with quarters. “Here, have these.  If three dollars hurt me, I’m in a worse condition than I thought.” she said with a chuckle.  I looked at her with awe, and an overwhelmed sense of knowing that God had provided these quarters for me!  Of course hugs and thank you’s ensued, but I think I may have skipped to the laundry room singing gratitude to The Lord my God! 🙂   And yet, a bigger lesson was being built inside me:  A lesson that although I had the means (WAY more than $3!–I couldn’t “get it done” by what I had in my hand.  I needed someone to “provide me” with exactly what I lacked.  I needed what only HE can provide!

We can study until our eyes pop out and our brains explode from massive download.  But until Wisdom and Understanding are sought, and divine revelation from The Holy Spirit given (for He alone is our Teacher.  John 14:26)—we’ve got a large bill, and no way to make it work.

Seek Wisdom.  Get Understanding.  In all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.  Stop reading the Word to make IT fit what you believe–start believing the Word, and fit your will into IT!  Jesus is coming.  Don’t be one of the foolish five…

With love in Him until next time,

Sheila
