What We Believe – Loaf By Loaf

What We Believe

We believe there is one God, and He exists in three persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  All of mankind is born into sin, and we begin life on earth with a sinful nature, completely incapable of producing the righteousness God requires.

We need a Savior.

Jesus is the Savior.  He is God Almighty and existed before all things.  All things were created for Him, by Him, and they consist in Him.  He is the Word of God made flesh, Who willfully came to earth to dwell among men.  In love, He offered His body as a sacrifice for the sin of the entire world.  He was buried but rose again on the third day.  Through His death and resurrection, He reconciled everything back to Himself.  He made peace between man and God, defeated sin and death, and He is seated in Heaven at God’s right hand.  He is the Mediator of the new convenant:  through faith in Jesus, a man is saved.

Salvation cannot be earned.  It is a gift from God, one that can only be received by faith.  When someone receives the Gospel of Jesus and accepts His Lordship in their life, they are born again.  This rebirth is spiritual.

Baptism is the token or evidence of this spiritual regeneration.  It testifies that we (believers) share in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.  By faith, we proclaim that we have died to the sinful nature we naturally inherited, and we are alive in the spirit to serve the living God with a clear conscience, completely cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus.  Serving God this way is different than following the letter of the Law.  Instead, we serve God by daily submitting to the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit, who is given freely to us and dwells in us.  The Holy Spirit imparts gifts, as He wills, to every believer.  He is our Comforter, our Counselor, our Strengthener, and our Standby.  Through His power, we are enabled to walk in ways of righteousness, forsaking the wicked ways of the world. This daily walk in faith leads to our sanctification, becoming increasingly more glorious until we reach full completion on the day Christ returns.

Yes; Jesus is coming back to earth.  Only this time He will not deal with sin.  Rather, He will reveal His saints, those who were chosen before the foundation of the world, and He will condemn the wicked and unbelieving.  Hell is a real place, and all who reject Jesus will be sent there for eternity.

Though that may seem harsh, the reality is this:  God loves every human on the earth.  He wills that no one perish.  Rather, He desires that every person acknowledge Him and turn to Him, so He can heal them.  It is out of His goodness that He has left each of us with a choice.

So, I urge you; if you haven’t already, choose Life!  Believe that Jesus died for your sins, and He endured the cross for you.  Intimate fellowship with God is now possible; the time of His favor is now.  No matter what you have done or what has happened to you, you can be completely cleansed, born anew, and made whole.  Simply receive Jesus as your Savior, and ask Him to be Lord of your life.  It’s a choice, but I assure you; it’s one you will never regret.
