Is This Yours? – Loaf By Loaf
Words From the Grey

Is This Yours?

Laughing, living, and young!  Forty-five, successful, surrounded by friends, family, and the finest life can offer.  A deacon at the most popular church in town, running your own non-profit, doing charitable work all over the region, when suddenly…

In a bizarre moment, the veil of facade is ripped away and what remains is a pride-filled, unrepentant, imposter of a life.  The world may have never glimpsed the truth–but here, all that remains is Truth.

You’ve sang Amazing Grace at least a million times, but never experienced it.  You’ve taught forgiveness to others while leading a small group, but never asked for it on your own. You gave Jesus the nod of acknowledgment to His deity, but never surrendered to His Lordship.  You’ve pretended a life of Mercy, Grace, Favor, and Forgiveness, but today they cannot be found.  Oh you’ve felt the tug on many occasions, but never bowed your life.  You often mumbled, “Life is good right now, and I’m content.  I’ll set things straight later, when I’m older and my fun is done.”  Your 85 year life expectancy was just that:  your estimate.  You never knew that before you were born, your days were written at 45.

Here you are.  Empty darkness is all you feel.  You remember laughing with former co-workers and friends about “seeing them in hell”–but there’s no one to be seen here, just complete separation. The void that wraps around you now is the absolute knowing that the Holy Spirit is nowhere to be found.  Mercy, Grace, and the Forgiveness that you became so accustomed to, is no longer a breath away.

IT IS FINISHED.

Only you know if this is you.  Please don’t be lulled to sleep by good works, dead faith, and religion!  Surrender your life to His!  He’s waiting…
