One In a Million – Loaf By Loaf
Books We Love

One In a Million Written by Priscilla Shirer

I found this book in the check out line at Mardel.  It was sitting in the clearance bin, and the title made my heart leap.  I walked over and leafed through its pages.  The intro whetted my appetite for what was to come.  Chapter titles like “Craving Canaan”, “Fleeing Egypt”, “Change of Taste”, “Church Challenged”, “Wholly His” and “Out with the Old” sucked me in immediately.  I knew I needed to read it, so I did…Twice.  And, honestly, I am due for a third glance, because this message is always timely.

If you are thirsty for real, promise land living, this book will be a tall glass of water.

It’s been some time since I finished the book, but I remember the sense of sisterhood I had with Priscilla.  She was earnest and real.  I felt sincerely encouraged that there were other women out there who, just like me, were not satisfied with status quo religion.  They weren’t okay with wilderness wandering.  No.  We have a promise from Almighty God, and by His grace, we can get there on this side of eternity.
