For this story to make any sense, two points must first be shared:
ONE: In my former, less God-fearing life, I was a Will Ferrell enthusiast. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, certain lines have never left me. That means, I am known to bust out a Will Ferrell quote when the occasion arises. (And that happens more often than you might think.)
TWO: I’m hairy. Thanks a lot, Dad.
Okay, so the other night, my family (meaning ALL of us) got together for a big meal. At one point in the conversation, I responded appropriately with one of my all-time favorite Will Ferrell lines, “I’m curious like a cat. That’s why my friends call me ‘Whiskers’.” To which my sister immediately replied, “Kaime, um, that’s not why we call you that.”
And this is why my daughter is an only child.
Off to hide in a glass case of emotion,
Kaime
