Random is Never Random – Loaf By Loaf
Words From the Grey

Random is Never Random

There have been plenty of events that caused me pause and deep cries of “WHY????”, but only because the “unknown” is the most vulnerable place. If you are in the middle of one of those events, please know: God has already planned your way of escape and healing–all you need to do is keep walking–and believing. God will get you to the finish line. TRUST HIM.

Life seems random at times, but steps are ordered. 😉

Case in point: John 4, The Woman at the Well.

If we could ask the disciples, they might say the trip through Samaria that day seemed more like wandering a less than desirable course. After all, Jews didn’t speak or associate with the residents there–so why go? But that random route wasn’t random.

Put yourself in her shoes: You are going about your chores that morning and need water. You grab your water pot and head to the well. Just a random chore at a random time of day. As you approach, you see a Jewish Man sitting by the well. You have no plans to speak, even pleasantries, 1: because you are a woman, and 2: because it is pointless. But as you walk up, HE speaks to YOU. Although shocked by this Man’s forwardness, you engage in the conversation. What you don’t realize: this Man came TO Samaria, to THAT well, to sit and wait for YOU to arrive. Your five ex-husbands, the sixth man just a shack-up, plenty of poor decisions, and trip for water were destiny PLANNED, not random. Not random for you, not random for ALL who would believe during that Samaria stopover.

Her “known past” became her testimony and was used in God’s Plan–and so can OURS.

I may not understand how God will use all of MY past into His Plan, but I trust none of it was random. I want Him to take and use everything to bring me, and others, closer to Him.

If that’s your prayer too, please pray with me: Lord, I surrender my past to You. I place it all under Your Blood of Redemption. Use it for Your glory and good. Use it ALL Lord! For ALL is valuable when wrapped in YOUR Perfect Plan!! In Jesus’ Name I pray, AMEN. 🙂

Be on the look out! Who knows if while doing some RANDOM chore, you may have a PLANNED encounter with The King of Kings!! 🙂
