Heigh-ho! Off to Work We Go… – Loaf By Loaf
Words From the Grey

Heigh-ho! Off to Work We Go…

We recently took a trip to Disney, so when this tune came to my mind–I wasn’t surprised! 🙂  And I know you are familiar with the following:

“Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:”  Eph 6:5-7 KJV

“Singleness of your heart, as unto Christ…”.  “Singleness” (defined as sincerity, generosity, bountifulness, simplicity),  “as unto Christ”.  Hummmm…

Jobs are tiresome.  Employers are sometimes difficult.  Co-workers, well that can go either way! lol  But there’s hope in the Word!

“But as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men“…

When I had a “divine revelation” that God was my Maker, my Husbandman and my Friend–it changed EVERYTHING.  That revelation shook my focus and shifted it from man-ward to God-ward.  It eliminated years of frustration, anger at unfair situations, and deep discontentment on so many levels.  When that TRUTH was finally recognized, it began to establish in me that God TRULY is my Source, my Strength, my Rewarder, and my Redeemer.  All of the sudden, man was off of the hook in my “accounting system” and God was my Provision.  He was my Righteous Vindicator.  It took time to readjust every situation to this Truth, but boy was the effort of taking every thought captive worth it!  What a wonderful, peace-filled, place to rest!  And the same can happen for you!!

Even in times of unfair treatment, you and I can have a settled faith in His care. We can be assured that God sees.   Put everyone (and every situation) at His feet, and trust Him to take care of you.

Warning!  Don’t make a wrong stand here:  We must let go of others (relieve them from the responsibility for our ease, contentment, and selfish pleasure)–and if they’ve wronged us–no longer harbor “hope for their reward” for wrongs done!  That kind of retainment of sins will cost you MORE than you realize!!*  Let go.  Forgive.  Let God handle you, them, and the situation.  You can trust Him.  He is faithful.

True understanding is this:  because God is our Source, we are able to genuinely pray for our enemies, bless and not curse**, for we have committed ourselves COMPLETELY into God’s divine care.  And because such, we are assured by the revelation of His Word that He cares for us!

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:  casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”   1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:  for it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith The Lord.”  Romans 12:19 KJV

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”  Hebrews 11:6 KJV

So, what if your job is great, your co-workers are fantastic and all is well?  Give God a big SHOUT OUT for the blessings in your life and read on!  There’s MORE!

“Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether bond or free.”  Ephesians 6:8 KJV

Wow!  I wonder how many lives would be drastically changed if this promise in His Word would sink in, root downward, and be attentively nurtured and acted upon?!

“…any good…the same shall he receive of the Lord…”   That’s AWESOME!

And to the bosses reading here today:

“And ye masters, do the same thing unto them, giving up threatening:  knowing that your Master also is in heaven;  neither is there respect of persons with Him.”  Ephesians 6:9 KJV

God sees.  God looks at hearts.  He makes no distinction between rich, poor, college educated, thick, thin, attractive, or not so much.  Pray for His discernment concerning your group.  Ask for direction next time there is an opening for advancement.  You might be surprised who He has placed in your care!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

I LOVE how MUCH He LOVES us!! 🙂

I’m putting these verses into practice!  Care to join me?

Heigh-ho! 🙂
